this is the scientific ether we have been waiting for. on an entertainment level, film gets a pass, everything else about it is foulish. jesse williams goes like Nas on stillmatic and tells tarantino to come out of his throne.

Not as corny as you entering a thread... to say you didn't read it :snoop:
Seriously bruh, how do you not realize how retarded you look when you say things like that?
Look at it like this... imagine a hate group wanting to make other ppl stupid.. how would they do that?
One way.. put up "I didn't read it" so people would rather put that up than to read something
The reason you didn't read it is because it was too long. Here's a newsflash
If you can't read things longer than a paragraph or two? You might wanna brush up on your reading habits bruh
Its a sure sign of lack of intelligence if reading is hard for you. Not joking, being honest

this guy is just rambling on and on and on, and not able to present his argument clearly ( or maybe he does at some point, but he lost me when he complained about close ups of beer).

to me, the message of the movie is pretty clear, the us was founded on violence and exploitation and this dehumanized all involved. dr. king schulz as the outsider looking in is so disturbed by what he witnesses, that he gets a nervous breakdown and basically commits suicede. slavery is presented in the most grueling way possible, as a contrast to the idealized version with good masters and happy slaves. the scenes on the big daddy plantation are a surrealisstic juxtaposition and mocking this hollywood version of slavery, while the mandingo fights are a metaphor for the brutality of slavery and the fact that slave owners where the masters over life and death of their slaves. finally django has no dialogue or meaningful conversations with his wife because the whole thing is supposed to be a spaghetti western, and the heros of spaghetti westerns don't talk.

thats the intellectual argument for fans of the film. however, the film dehumanises blacks. no one even remembers jamies character cause he is so boring and one dimensional. as for kerry washington? lolz.

this film was by a caac director, about 2 caacs , dr king schultz and dicaprio. black people acting grateful for this are embarrasing and i dont want to associate myself with them. like chris rock said, low expectation having mofos.

ps, the close up of beer point is this. why are we wasting time watching all these close ups of Dr King handling his beer, and we cant get one scene between Django and brumilda where they are speaking to each other in a humane and relatable way? their love is supposed to represent the films humanity. but it was obviously an afterthought.

its cause jamie foxx is overrated as fukk and can't play to save his life

he played exactly the same bland character in Collateral

the film dehumanises everybody besides king schulz, and that is what the movie is about: slavery dehumanises all those who are involved. if you want to be mad, be mad, but i am more offended by directors who turn racism into feel good movies like the help. tarantino made you cringe and was unapologetic about the whole thing. and instead of proposing a bullshyt "can't we all just get along" solution, the movie ends with all white people being dead. i liked that about the movie, but you don't have to.
