It's the power of the judicial system and money that drives his confidence. Really think about why he has all of that money laying next to him. He said it himself in the interview, he would of been fukked up if he was broke. He feels comfortable knowing that he's backed up by self defense even more so because he said if a situation happens in the future it'll just be another body..and he'll just use self defense again to safe his ass..

Either way I'm not a nikka in the know of the situation so I'm just looking at it on a different level...there is a clear boost of confidence in him due to that situation..he's empowered by that shyt and it'll get to him sooner or later. for good or bad
