Asuka has been booked way better than hideo was back when he was around. They made hideo look like a geek the minute he needed help taking on the ascension.

yeah his booking was not strong at all. i feel like they learned from that mistake and improved on it with the people they debuted after that. they had Itami looking cold way before the injury took place unfortunately.

Nope. We puro brehs were telling y'all that KENTA wasn't "best in the planet" level when he was signed and that he stopped being long before he got to NXT. shyt, his injury problems were a concern too IIRC.
He can still be a solid player and have great matches with the right opponent but people were expecting way too much imo.
Having said that, dude still struggled way too much, I hope he can comeback.

They didn't neuter Asuka though, or Nakamura for that matter. I think that's something they learned from Hideo's situation because where they were making him wrestle that WWE style right out of the gates, they're letting Asuka and Nakamura cook, and in fact even promote that they wrestle strong style.
When (if?
) Hideo returns, he should just come back as a heel, declare himself to be Kenta again and stiff kick the fukk out of everyone.
Looks like KENTA may be heading back to Japan sooner than we though

NJPW's main event style and WWE's style have been rather similar for the past five years since Tanahashi's ethos took over. KENTA had to transition from the King's Road style, condensing 30-40 minute matches into 5-8 minute showcases, and do it without his best spots.
