NYC is not like london where there's a park every 5 blocks even in the city center. Yeah central park is big, but it's not accessible unless you live nearby, nobody is going to take the train during their work day just to go to central park. But NYC does have some big parks that you can commute to when you have the time. Personally, fort tryone park is my favorite, just a beautiful view of the hudson and a nice museum at the top. There's a nature path in flushing meadow park by forest hills that's really cool also. The path by the belt going around the verrazano is beautiful. Battery park is really nice, byrant park is also pretty good for those in midtown.

Most major cities are ugly.

Concrete and glass forests will never be attractive. Their attraction are the cultural aspects of them.

NY is nice in terms of concrete jungle - the skyline/skyscrapers + mix of small scale neighborhoods with historical buildings and old architecture :ohlawd:

you want nature, then hit a city known for nature as its backdrop - Phoenix with the desert and mountains, SF or Seattle with the ocean, trees and hills
