Marshall's analytics aren't as good as Decker's were in Denver. Decker had a great year whereas Marshall declined last year. Marshall is also like 30.

Ya, which is why I'm not doing cartwheels with this trade.

Whatever the cost Marshall's arrival no doubt improves the receiving core. He should contribute as a possession receiver and strong red zone target. I hope we draft Cooper. His speed, route running and versatility will do wonders in Gailey's system. Teams will have to worry about 2 potential top 15 receivers in Cooper and Decker. And then there's Marshall waiting in the cut too.

Marshall is still a true #1 WR, which this team hasn't had in years. I hope they go WR at 6 if a trade with the eagles doesn't go down

We should be able to get Cooper or White still.

this is all point towards giving Geno every chance to sink or swim, and even if he sinks, we should sit whatever QB we draft, so that buys him time. Sure they attempt a stopgap somewhere, but he too would be a mediocre placeholder.

Geno's issues have remained constant since college...you cant keep trotting him out there when he cant protect the football.

No he isn't. Jeffrey was Chicago #1 last year and Marshall played a lot. Marshall is a possession receiver that doesn't make YAC at this point.

Great run blocker. But not very good in pass protection.

Not sure I'd shell out that much money for a poor pass blocker

guard is not a position you want to lock big dollars into imo...Iupati as you said is mediocre in pass pro

this is where I'll give you a little bit of credit for your trepidation.

If you think we're fukked for the next couple of years, then yes, short term moves mean nothing. From a QB perspective, Geno is the only QB we can get that can even present the possibility of being better than mediocre, but as you see, if you look like you're gonna be screwed for a while, players won't take your money. We're right there with Oakland in that regard.
