Which one of our backs are you dropping then? I'm dropping CJ2k.
I'm dropping CJ2YPC. He's washed.

He was the teams best runner the second half of the season after Marty realized to stop trying to use him as a stretch runner. He still has ton in the tank.I'm dropping CJ2YPC. He's washed.

Man please. Chris Ivory spent the later half of the season jitterbugging and dancing in the backfield while CJ ran for more yards. No he wasn't the best runner on the team, ever. I think the only reason he ever has a high YPC is because he sometimes hits a big run. Otherwise he's good for about 2 YPC where a better back would get twice that.
He's one of the most overpaid and consistently trash RBs in the league. Spiller is twice the back CJ2YPC is.
I really want Duke to be a Jet.My concern is that Ivory won't be as effective in Gailey's system.
I'd be fine with bringing in Spiller (for the right price). If not, draft a guy like Duke Johnson in the 3rd/4th

Ivory can be as effective in Gailey's system as Jackson was in Gailey's system. Speed backs aren't the only type of back that succeed in Gailey's spread schemes. Ivory is not a back that needs a particular system to thrive. He has great vision, incredible strength, good agility and always falls forward. He has a similar style to Buffalo's Jackson, who performed well opposite Spiller when Gailey was in Buffalo.
jackson is a much bigger threat out of the backfield than ivory.
i like ivory but i don't think it's as simple as "if fred jackson can do it, ivory can do it."
fred jackson >>> chris ivory
Fred Jackson and Ivory's running styles are similar. Ivory can be as effective in Gailey's scheme as Jackson in this way. Receiving? No, but you don't release a RB that regularly ranks top 10 in most categories because he lacks receiving ability.
i like ivory but he's not as good as fred jackson, not even that close. i'm curious to know which categories that ivory consistently ranks in the top 10.
i don't think cutting ivory is an option.. he's too good for too cheap.. but an ivory/spiller duo is pretty much spitting in the face of the football injury gods and daring them to make the next move.
