What was your opinion of the production on Serv-On's "Da Next Level" One of the last albums the entire BBTP worked on

@NO-BadAzz @JustCKing @OHSNAP! @No Hook

Tank nikkas
Boot Em Up
Murder
I Luv It

^^^ only repeat listens on that album. I was disappointed because I was really anticipating that album and wanted to like it, but it just wasn't that good at all.

Pretty disappointing sophomore album from Serv. BBTP sounded burnt out (KL in particular, Carlos too somewhat, Mo B barely produced anything in 99 besides for his own album). Serv regressed as a spitter, his Mystikal/Silkk hybrid stutter style sounded like a mess most of the time

Tank Nikka was a great way to start the album off beautifully. Then just alot of repetitive bland cuts. Kenoe had the best beat on it (Murder), sounded like Ride On Dem Bustas II

Some nice introspective cuts in the last third of the album, but early 99 No Limit was just a mess manne, production either too bland or all over the place, albums weren't cohesive at all, repetitive lyrics, just way too rushed

In real time, I thought it was a good album, it had some nice cuts on the album. The single Wobble Wobble had me wanting to check it out.

Heading into the summer, still in HS, folks were moving away from the tank. The single Wobble Wobble was a fresh breath of air and it kept eyes on NL heading into that 00 summer.

Like I stated, I thought it was a good album. I used to play the hell out of "Uptown" and "Big Toys"

Honestly, I have yet to listen to that album. Even in real time, I was never a big fan of Serv-on.

He was my least favorite off the tank, I couldn't get with his style in real time.

I heard that it wasn't as good as Life Insurance.

Really bizarre album

On one hand, some real smashes (Big Toys, We Bust, Uptown, Whodi), cool new styles (Neptunes cut, westcoast cut with Snoop), but then you got weak half-baked repetitive shyt soundin' straight from 99 (Enemies, Roll Roll, Check Em, Thug Girl 2) and old songs from 99 albums (Say Brah, Beefing, I Can Tell, No Limit)

Mixed bag. Never liked Krazy's inclusion, I mean everyone was clowning/criticizing P for all the Pac bitin' anyway, now this?? Mac and C should have been featured on way more songs, they killed all their parts. Mystikal had only two new verses, he was basically off NL anyway at this point

Wobble Wobble was a huge hit tho. Fun vid too. Whodi had a great vid and was the better song too

It was a good album to me. My issues with the album:

1) Not enough of the original lineup. There weren't enough songs with Mystikal, Silkk, and P. It showcased the new guys and was all over the place.

2) Too many old songs and rehashes. "Wobble, Wobble" remix was enough. Including "Say Brah", "I Can Tell" (not only include it, but not even make it a single), "Beefin", "No Limit" was overkill.

3) Too many songs

Real spill, I was about to type that this album was all over the place, not just because of the old songs either, but the frequency or sync'ness of the album was not fluid, it didn't really flow

That's how I felt about it. It didn't really flow, it was piece together, it was like they only recorded maybe 7 legit songs, and they pieced the others together, added verses. etc. I can't articulate what I want to really say, but I didn't feel a real flow within the album.

The sequence of the songs or something was off to me.

Sure thang, seemed rushed and pieced together like crazy. Minimum of C, Mac (club shooting happened a few months prior) and Mystikal verses too, instead a ton of P n Silkk again
