I dunno breh....

The thing is these no limit rappers never sold enough records to have that issue...
And the people who he had an issue with are the people(beats by the pound)he sharked moneywise...

If a nikka selling 200k records, he might be good with what p is giving him...at the same time, p might have been taking off the top instead of maybe using some to promote the artist better..

meh

most of them went gold, some went plat. but nobody ran around saying they got jerked.

the bigger sellers never complained about money either. mia x, mystikal, snoop, etc.

I thought C murder was about to cause problems? And P or Boz stepped in to stop the issue from going over board

I thought one of them Cali dude was like C murder was a real nikka and was about that action and take it there? One of the dudes who was explaining the situation shouted C out..

We may be talking about a different situation

If P bought Mystikal out of his deal, how come both albums Unpredictable & Ghetto Fabulous both have JIVE on the release?

Nobody ever saw that Lil Italy video. Most of those videos outside of the Miller boys only aired on local rap shows. A good majority of them never made it to MTV or even BET. That would have taken money.

P saved money but it hindered the development of the artists' careers because they got no push and were forgotten a week after their album dropped. That's a big reason why almost none of the artists made noise after NL's run.

An artist like Mystikal needs videos to showcase his personality. Especially in the 90's when music videos were everything. To go next level, you had to focus on videos. CMR did and blew up. Suave & No Limit didn't and it stunted their artists.
or maybe they were just idk lazy? Lot of cash money artist were able to recapture what they had after they left the label or got dropped, Bird wasn't able to do anything with Mystikal.

thats two different time periods tho.

besides, i think the beef was moreso between the people they were down with, rather than the average cat from those hoods.
plus i always heard P pulled a gun on Gangsta.

he definitely threw some subs at cash money tho, talembout he saved their lives.

and i do think that he just didnt want them on priority period. if i was P, i wouldnt want them on the same label as me either. too much of a conflict of interest on top of the other ish. but it backfired, cuz universal threw the machine behind CMR full-throttle. i doubt priority wouldve done that.
It's funny because the "New" No Limit Records was also distributed by Universal, until P took the money and ran lmao! @OHSNAP! @NO-BadAzz @JustCKing @Goldz-n-hoez

birdman didnt want to do anything with mystikal. even when mystikal went off and had that hit with mark ronson or whoever, birdman still kept him on the shelf and wouldnt let him out the deal.

birdman only signed mystikal, to keep him away from mannie fresh.

Yea even right now, all these years later, the only people saying they got shafted were BBTP and Slay Sean during the New No Limit era (said he didn’t get paid for writing various songs during that period). Pretty obvious everybody else was getting paid whether the bigger artists or the lesser ones.
