Snoop was ass on No Limit, lol. I mean, I know everyone online is a revisionist, but I was there taking it all in in real time (pause). That "Still a G thing" song was fresh but almost everything else was ass, "Lay Low" shouldn't even count as some Snoop No Limit shyt. There's a reason he got up outta there as soon as possible, I'm sure P lost more money than he made off Snoop.

He probably thought Snoop would still do elite numbers and he did well but he never did Doggystyle numbers again. The reason why labels don’t do what P did is because return of investment matters. P had to be real cool with taking a big financial hit, but since his label deal was good, he could take a risk like Mystikal or Snoop.
You don't think Nas would have caused damage with Irv and nem??
At that time when The Pledge came out, wasn't Nas in his zone?

and im sure P made his money back. snoop sold alot of records over there. i think doggystyle was the only album that sold more than snoop's no limit joints.
snoop played his part. i wont say that he was ass but i do agree that his stint on no limit has been romanticized over time. i wouldnt say that he was a top 10 no limit soldier, and i wouldnt put him in as a top 5 rap free agent either.
nikka for both of them it was their 3rd album.. WTF are you talking about. Cam came at the decline of Rocafella. Snoop came to No Limit in 97.. In their prime.

Miss me with that “Snoop was wack on No Limit” bs. Da Game is to be Sold Not Told was half mid but the two after that on No Limit are 2 of Snoop’s best, period.
I don't think he lost money, it may look to us that he did, but P was getting 80%, maybe now 40-60% with Death Row cutting into the profits.
I think P made his money on merch, and other things off from Snoop. I agree with you, that P may have thought he could get those Gin & Juice numbers.
I still say, one of P biggest mistakes when Snoop came was putting him on Make'em Say Ugh Part 2 smh..
