WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. government ruled on Tuesday that food from cloned animals and their offspring is as safe as other food, opening the door to bringing meat and milk from clone offspring into the food supply.

man I want to eat natural animal meat, not any egg-head growing meat from cells for people to eat.

work on growing human organs who need transplants or who lose limbs instead of fake animal meat

Have they ever considered the fact that some people don’t eat meat because they don’t like the texture, smell and taste of meat. Not everyone is vegan because they are an animal-lover or against the slaughter of animals (although it should be done more humanely).

One of the goofiest things to come along in a while. Our diets and gut biome are attuned to handle regular meat just fine. It's the overconsumption that does us in just like everything else. We don't need alternatives we need discipline!

Alternatives are certainly easier for the majority of folks, though. So I can't knock the hustle.

it's virtually indistinguishable from live animal meat, that's why regulators what it labeled. it's literally cells from a live animal tahts then grown in a lab so i'm not sure what why you think the human diet will be more impacted by this than the changes brought about by preservatives, hormones & high fructose corn syrup.

Ireland is considering slaughtering 200,000 cows as an environmental effort while lab grown meat has now be given the green light?

And in how many years will authentic meat rise in prices and be seen as a status symbol?

it'll rise in price likely because there will be fewer customers compared to cheaper lab grown meat. it's reverse economies of scale. unless some technological advancements are made to animal farming and the environmental impact it causes, i can't see live animal meat getting cheaper with greater adoption of lab grown meat.

I think the main issue is it takes up way too much resources to raise animals, so let’s clone meat and save some of this water we using up
