Ariel Helwani is such a UFC nut hugger. He just said if Weidman beats Luke, he surpasses Anderson as the best MW :stopitslime:
Weidman beat Silva, and Luke was the reigning Strikeforce champ so I think there's some legitimacy to his opinion.

So that erases everything Silva did? Weidman still has some work to do before that discussion is even broached.
All I'm saying is that it's not complete bs. If he knocks of the reigning champs from two worlds, so to speak, then he's got a very strong resume. Personally, I still think he'd have to have many more defenses to get there. I'm just saying I can see where he's coming from, even though I disagree.

I thought aldo would win a decision. ..but now...I think Conor wins a SD.

On paper, Luke should win but he seems uncomfortable. ..his comments seem to be feigned confidence...he's talking too much.

I think Romero's gonna knock jacare out...he's the darkhorse.

There's another crack in Conor's bravado that I spotted a few weeks ago. During the TUF 22 series. I believe that one of his team members lost by submission. Interestingly enough Conor's reaction to that was something to the effect of, 'you didn't get beat, you got caught'.

I was stunned to laughter. Big man with all his sh*t talking doesn't consider losing by submission as a real loss. It's not as if submissions are losses by some rulebook technicality it's 50% of the MMA game. It says to me that he's still not yet come to grips with his two early first round submission losses and has concocted a flowery excuse to pardon them.

I strongly believe Jose has the edge on the ground and he would be able to submit him easily.

I don't know who will win but my mind is thinking Aldo 55/45.

Conor looks like he is putting up a front, while Jose is just having fun out there...:russ:

You can tell that Aldo had a great camp and Conor didn't :mjlol:

My predicitons.

Mcghee UD
Proctor UD
Makdessi UD
Lee Sub RD 2
Covington UD(stupid fight to make. two good up and comers facing off)
Torres UD
Faber Sub RD 3

Main Card

Holloway vs Stephens- Holloway is probably the best prospect in MMA. Crisp technical volume striking, great foot work, can fight at range/inside, great clinch work, improved grappling. Stephens has power and wrestling but thats about it. And hes been very inconsistent. Holloway TKO RD 3

Nelson vs Maia- Grappler dream match. Still not a fan of Gunnar. His hands down karate stance is annoying. His output is extremely low and he throws himself off balance throwing wide looping rights. I think Maia will win off his underrated wrestling and smothering top control. Maia UD

Romero vs Jacare- Good matchup. I got Romero tho. Jacare has struggled against bigger, athletic fighters in the past. He has not faced a guy of Romero's caliber in years. I don't think he will be able to get Romero to the ground. And Romero is too explosive and unpredictable on the feet. I mean he was just toying with Machida for a few rounds before he dumped him and elbowed his face off. Jacare is the better overall fighter, but I think Romero is a special guy who is determined to win. Romero UD.

Weidman vs Rockhold.- Pick em fight. Rockhold is a big MW with diverse kickboxing and solid grappling. Weidman is a great wrestler with heavy hands. He is slow and flat footed but knows how to cut angles and put pressure on you constantly. And he is great inside with his clinch. Both are even on the ground, tho Rockhold has slightly better transitions. Rockhold biggest weakness is his boxing. He may have trouble keeping his back off the cage. But I will go with him because I think his size, athleticism, cardio, and movement will be too much for Weidman to deal with for five rounds

Aldo vs Mcgregor- Another close fight. Mcg can easily do what he normally does and walk right towards Aldo with no regard, throw with powerful, extreme volume, and KO Aldo. But I believe Aldo will have Mcgregors gameplan down to a T. There is a reason hes hasn't lost in 10 years. I don't think he will be stuck on the outside of Mcgregors punches for extended periods of time. His footwork, head movment, pivots, etc are too good. And he has shown to respond very well with aggression of his own when someone is constantly in his face pushing him. You can never disregard or count out someone who moves like Mcgregor and has that much power. But he has too many holes in his game. No striking defense, attacks in strickly a straight line, throws heavily on his lead leg, has no regard for TD or trying to get in a better position/up off the ground. Aldo UD or possibly late TKO in the championship rounds
