SI got rose as the #60 best player in the NBA.
SI.com's Top 100 NBA Players of 2016: 100-31
List is type trash. There's not 60 players in the league better then Rose. What I still find amazing is that neither he, nor the medical staff were able to pinpoint when and where did he exactly re-tear his surgically repaired meniscus. He said he felt friction of the stitches bothering him, but often he chalked it up to the game and went out and played anyway before finally getting it checked out. No telling how long he played on it, and how it hindered his performance throughout last season.
It's still remarkable what he was able to do in the playoffs, after missing a month plus, and also being on a minute restriction in the few games that he DID get to play on the back end of the regular season. He was clearly gassed in a lot of the playoff game
s due to not being in game shape
(he was averaging almost 40 damn minutes per game). He caught flack for game 6, including from me, but looking back, the shyt was just not meant to be & no amount of him chucking on tired legs would've saved the Bulls....
I really think Fred, who for all intents & purposes has a rep of being a "players' coach", is exactly what Rose needs at this stage in his career - somebody who knows the rigors of an NBA season, and can look at these players, and know when to rest them, or give them the day off altogether....
