Good to know because all over social media they keep saying Haitians started it. I’m puzzled by that cause when I go to Miami the Hispanics like to lump wicks with Haitians but I’ve questioned this because I’m not sure if Haitians were into dreads at the time they were coming into America during those times.

Haitians weren't rocking dreads and wicks like that in the 80s. Old school Haitians were opposed to dreads and wicks. They are very judgmental of those hairstyles. It was the first-generation Haitian- Americans pick up the wicks hairstyle from ADOS in the late 90s. Then we helped popularized dreads in South Florida.
