Outside of Neptunes and Roc, Early 00s East COast production was so bad. shyt was both hollow and overproduced at the same time.

My least favorite era of production. Everything sounded generic as fukk smh

Loved that album, and Sigel was a favorite for his entire run, but yeah, in retrospect, that is a terrible beat. That whole era, had those really cheap, video game style beats, that aged horribly, even a few years later. Already pointed out but Clue, Duro, Rick Rock, were flagrant violators.

Trackmasters had the horrible handclaps and cheap guitar riffs. For example, the production on Best of Both Worlds
