Yeah Kanye stole drums left, right and centre. He admitted as much in Scratch mag back in the day.
That being said, the crunch, compressed drum in that song (through the wire) was clearly an attempt at emulating the jay dee clap. Didn't really work that well, still a great song though.

Somehow Em managed to get that style beat placed on God's Son and The Black Album. Sound like made these joints in 5 minutes a piece, back to back, before him, Luis Resto and Mr. Porter turned their attention to perfecting the generic G-Unit sound
