Main event was amazing. Of course the bytching already begins.
Wait, who's bytching about the main event? Other than that the finish (specifically the winner) didn't feel that earned, that shyt was a fan-fukking-tastic match.

After I watched the main event I came in this thread expecting people to be amped up about another classic but instead, its people complaining about Okada going over, making his big comeback, etc
NJPW is not booked for us. It is booked for the Japanese audience. The booking of this match was brilliant in elevating Shibata to a main event caliber player. He fukking NO SOLD A RAINMAKER and the only reason he lost is because he tried to eat a 2nd one and it finally got him.
If anyone is watching NJPW for any reason other than to see classic matches, then they are pouring hot jelly on themselves. And if they don't think that main event was 4.5 stars minimum and worthy of getting excited over, well then I don't know what to say.

I'm not sure what your point is? Outside of the fact that maybe only three people watched it live, nobody was denying that it was a quality match, that perhaps got overshadowed because of the hulk up ending and Fale being set up as the next challenger. And outside of it being Shibata's first main event I don't see how it elevated him since everybody was already on Shibata's side. The audience cheered him on the entire match, so to say this match elevated him to that level is a bit weird. Shibata wasn't made into a main event player in this match, Shibata was in this match because he had become a main event player.
