like i always say, people who think WCW dropped the ball on bret hart, are 10 times out of 10, people who didnt watch WCW like that, if at all.

WCW was where the big boys play.

bret simply got swallowed up by the roster and couldnt stand out.

I just think like I alluded to and like @Sonny Corinthos said.

It just felt “weird” with him there and he didn’t vibe right. Back then, I don’t know what my or the world’s expectations were for him. I know he had the cloud of the Screwjob on him.

But you could just kinda feel he wasn’t comfortable there or wasn’t having a good time and didn’t fit in. Like he looked miserable.... and part of it probably could’ve been still from the trauma of the betrayal with Vince, some could be cuz he saw the politics or how shyt was ran in the office down there. Who knows

But he didn’t have the vibe like “I’m here, I’m here to have fun and entertain for all and I’m refreshened” like most cats do when they go from one company to another.

and being U.S. champion wasnt far from being WCW champion. it usually wasnt some midcard chit. it was mostly main eventers holding the belt.

dont get that chit confused with the intercontinental title or whatever else.

The US title meant you were #1 contender for the WCW belt. He was brought in as a side attraction compared to how Tyson came in a month later..come on. Lol.

The best matches for the IC title was better than the best world title matches

No world title match was fukking with Perfect vs Bret SummerSlam 91 for the IC title

Matter fact I’ll go as far as to say the IC title is the best title of all time

They did use him later but by that time people no longer cared about wcw.
