Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
Only rappers death I ever cried about. I think it was more like “why now”. Dude JUST reached his peak and delivered the classic we all knew he had. He wouldn’t fold for a quick deal and held out for years. Only to finally release it and it reaches the heights and lives up to all the hype

Then some bum ass nikka kills him in the spot he trying to make a difference. Even the police was like “man what the fukk”. Damn judge like “nikka you greenlit”

That man held a power as a person that 99% of rappers don’t obtain. He made you love HIM the person and that made the music that much better. Instead of some lame with good music

didnt read OP but just came in here to say Victory Lap is a top 5 album of the 2010s

and The best album from the coast since Doctors Advocate
Victory Lap is fire. And I just replayed No Pressure yesterday, it's only 8 tracks but that entire thing is one of the best tapes of the 10s, too. He was rapping his ass off on that tape...

He died as he was peaking. No Pressure and Victory Lap were his last two drops and his most elite, most skillful lyricism of his career...
yall think he had enough music in the stash for another album?
Who knows but he was ascending. Racks In The Middle was dope...

He was ascending like a muhfukka, it'll always be sobering that his music wasn't as appreciated in real time as it became after death...
