I think it still would have been a polarizing album because of the backpack audience that would have wanted more Premier than one cut on a double disc and no Pete Rock. Obviously not panned as Nastradamus but debated more as how the second I am album or IWW when first released were.

I just think double discs in general are just difficult to maintain quality. People forget this now but Wu-Tang Forever left some people uncertain about the Wu, and even All Eyez on Me while popular had mixed reviews. I think had Biggie lived even that album would have probably been viewed like IWW in 96. Popular with radio and a large audience but I think you'd get more elitist grumblings which felt like a bigger deal back then.
As such I think I am would have been recieved a bit strange. Its not overtly commercial or has that one crossover hit like if I Ruled the World nor does it have a boom bap type golden age track like Ilmatic. It would be a very dark and neurotic album like what Lost Tapes would have been. Sure it would be better than what we got but I also think the feelings about Nas then to that audience in the late 90s would have been the same even if he would have had more success.

Yea this is true. Plus it probably wouldn't have Hate Me Now since that was recorded after the 2 disk was scrapped, meaning it would largely be two disks of very lyrical tracks and not much club banger shyt.

Still it would have been dope. Not the best double album or even classic, but dope.

Yes there was multiple versions but they came out one by one. I can list the first 2 versions in a few mins

And yeah nipsey wrong

His reasoning I believe comes from the fact that belly button window was an ode to Jimmi hendrix and was the last song on his 1971 album cry.

I never seen your particular bootleg but the vinyl for hate me now has nas is like and blaze a 50 so.

Yes all the songs you mentioned were recorded after the first bootleg had leaked

Hate me now fits better in your paragraph because life we chose wasn't till nastradamus year later

The orig8nal version had the mentions of abortion and domestic violence in the first verse. Nas changed it for lost tapes out of respect for his mother who past.

I can tell yell the FIRST leaked tracklist

I still own the 3 vinyls that create this, these tracks are exactly in this order

I wonder (sometimes I wonder)
Stay alive (hardest thing to do)
Drunk 4 self (drunk by myself)
Playin rough (wanna play rough)
Put to death (blaze a 50)
Dedication (we will survive)
Reap what you sew (small world)
Stay scheming (day dreaming)
Belly button window (fetus)
Dos and don'ts (Dr knockboots)
Player poppa (poppa was a player)
the game lives on (project window)

This leak was fall 1998.

Feel free to quote me and pass the word around. It's time we stop spreading misinformation.

God knows I had the death of escobar album more than a 15 yrs ago and people just started leaking it

I was the one resp9nsible for ripping the rise and fall and never gonna give it up back in 2001

Hence the reason I been working on this Nthology tape. I got mad exclusives

I would've shared more over the years but decided to take all of what i have and create the best nas mixtape a few yrs ago

did i just hear a second version of 'i gave you power'??? :dwillhuh: i thought i had done heard it all

Did anyone get this exclusive in their "NaStradmaus" disc? It was a grey CD with only one song. Circut City had those NaS exclusives something crazy. The "I Am NaStradamus" Era doesn't get is proper props. NaS was bodying sh!t.

exactly why the Lost Tapes proved he never fell off...half of it was from that era

I was just listening to Undying Love and Amongst Kings last night.

Those two songs definitely follow each other cause on Amongst Kings he says "Commited Suicide, I was atheist". Never knew Fetus was meant to complete the Trilogy.

:ehh:

Nas once said Death Certificate was probably the best album of any genre. You can tell he was inspired by the structure of Death Certificate.

Alive on Arrival/Death (skit) /The Birth (skit)
