I was on IG and noticed in DJ Drama's post that he's publicly saying what some people already knew, that Nipsey has been on Atlantic Records since at least 2014 right after Crenshaw dropped.

He did own his masters, but he has been signed to a major label the past 5 years. We found out when the linear notes to his appearance on TI's 2014 album Paperwork showed he was signed to Atlantic.

So yeah when Mailbox Money was relased, Nip was signed to Atlantic. I just saw the Drama post and it was the first time I had personally saw somebody else in the industry acknowledge it. If word had really gotten out it would have hurt the narrative he was pushing.

Nah I aint mad, just always felt betrayed becauze his whole narrative was being all independent. Just reminds you how, in entertainment, none of this is what it seems, no matter how much they may say.

That Drama IG post was just shocking because it was the first time it was admitted publicly, especially just a few days after his death when it didn't even have to be mentioned in his post.
