Hello Switch brehs. Copping a Switch this Christmas for my son and it'll be the first Nintendo system I've purchased/owned since a SNES so I have a few questions.

I've peeped the online store since I feel like getting digital games is the move since he will probably lose the small cartridges. What's a good memory card size? Also do these games go on sale ever? Seems like even old games are full price lol. I don't really want him online talking to a bunch of people, what are some really good local co op games that maybe I can play with him or even 3 people so my wife can play if she wants to as well?

256gb is fine. Nintendo branded games rarely go on heavily discounted sales, but there's plenty of great third party games on the eshop that you can get for the low. Online is pretty bare bones, you could even get away with him not going on it tbh.

Jackbox Party Packs
Saints Row 3
Witcher 3
Not A Hero
Captain Toad
Retimed
NBA 2k Playground
Horizon Chase Turbo
Human Fall Flat
Lethal League
Fast RMX
Minecraft
Luigi's Mansion
Portal
Mario vs Rabbids
Doom Eternal
TMNT Shredders Revenge
ARMS
Bioshock Collection
Bulletstorm
Dying Light
Hot Wheels
Lethal League
Snipperclips
Mario Odyssey
Mario 3d World
Mario Kart
Smash Bros
Zelda Breath of The Wild
Wolfenstein II
Street Fighter II

Outside of the first party games, I've was able to cop most of these for $20 or so and had a lot of fun with them

Nintendo tends to be pretty good about compressing their game sizes, if you’re cool with archiving the games he doesn’t play anymore than a 64 GB SD card should be fine.

As for local co op games: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Mario Party Superstars, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Super Mario Odyssey are good games to start with.

how is the frames per second? Is it choppy?

Nah, I didn't have any issues with it whatsoever. Screenshots don't do it justice, they sacrificed the graphic fidelity for smoothness, but you're never standing still so you don't even notice it. I was very pleasantly surprised at how much fun I had with it.

Copped Doom Eternal off the e shop for $20. First modern doom game ive really given a fair chance and it’s actually a lot of fun. Level design is much more intricate than i had envisioned it being.
surprisingly one of my fave switch games

dope first person shooter but the online mode kinda sucks

i had loaned my friends kids my switch for a while and finally got it back during the new years weekend. got it setup on my patio tv so i just been chilling out here gaming. i'm just getting bored with my options. all my games are old ones so not like i have much new stuff. I beat the Mario Odyssey, and most of the only moons I'm missing are the Regular Cup or Special cup ones or whichever one you gotta race the koopas in. For BOTW I just earlier got the last shrine I was missing which was the red moon one. hated that one from what I remember playing a while back. can't wait until the sequel. i got some dlc thing that I can prolly go thru but not much interest there. i been messing with the donkey kong tropical freeze, just beat a boss that was giving me trouble. and i got the super mario bros deluxe u, but i got pissed cuz i had beat a few levels and i remembered the stupid save thing where it sends you back if you get a game over. don't know if Animal Crossing still popping but I recall playing that often. last time i played was before they had some swim update that they did so who knows how prehistoric my island is. other games i got are mario kart, smash brothers, mario party tho the new one looked interesting, and mario maker 2 as far as console games go. not including whatever these kids put on here like minecraft, fortnite, cooking simulator, and some DBZ game, or stuff like tetris 99, mario bros 35, pacman 99, or any old game collections from nes, snes, and n64 which i just downloaded recently but haven't checked out. i remember wanting a few games when i didn't have my switch like the mario 3d world game and the link to the past reboot but them shyts still $60. nintendo don't believe in any discounts. shyt even odyssey still at 60. paper mario another one that had caught my eye. i know the pokemon games looked interesting and that was back from sword and shield time so i know that now they got the violet and scarlet ones. i just downloaded some mario kart booster pass since i got the family plan thing, i think with my boy, not same friend who i lent switch to. might just mess with mario kart, mario maker 2, donkey kong, and mario party until the new zelda comes out cuz i can't see myself spending 60 bucks on a platformer or game like link to the past or 3d world. maybe if i get some more money for it i'll consider them. any games that have come out past year or so that you guys think are worth checking out instead?

Even though Switch is showing its age, I still play it religiously (despite having the GOAT Deck). There's something about taking the jawn with you, playing a few games, and coming home to put it on the dock just to pick up where you left off.

That being said, Immortals: Fenix Rising been my jam for a spell. Trying to get through these "adventure" games because ZelGOAT drops.

I rewatched a bunch of Breath of the Wild trailers last night, and it made me wanna play the game again. I started a fresh save and cleared the Great Plateau…two hours later.:damn:
I think this is my fifth or sixth time runnin’ it back.:wow:
