I almost got a switch a few years ago but felt like I didn't make sense at the time when I still had a lot of other games I had bought/not played yet, but now that I'm getting towards the end of my backlog, I've decided I'm likely going to pick up one of the Nintendo Switch OLED models in the next few months. I haven't had a Nintendo since the SNES.

Aside from BOTW what other games should I consider? (fun and not too serious but more geared to adults ideally)
Is Nintendo Online worth having for the NES, SNES, and N64 collection (never had one and although I've played several games I'm not sure if they feel too dated now)?

Mario + Rabbids, Metroid Dread, Links Awakening (if you have nostalgia for it), Mario Odyssey, Smash Bros

I feel like with Nintendo its kind of what to know what games someone would enjoy on it and what they wouldn’t. A lot of their games are very different vs xbox or playstation where you know specifically what you’re getting when you buy them

Like its hard to know whether someone would like three houses, splatoon, animal crossing, or maybe all three.

Thanks. I think nostalgia would be a large part of the reason i would be getting one so Zelda and Mario are definitely at the top of the list. I've traditionally played almost all my games on Playstation so when it came to buying multiplatform games I typically got them there so this would be more for Nintendo exclusives or for gaming on the go. I feel like I've just been away from nintendo so long (partly because I felt like I had aged out of it) I wouldn't even know where to start.

Also, if it helps I play more single player games than anything (pretty open to genre) and don't care much for FPS or multiplayer in most instances, and I typically prefer games on the shorter end like anywhere between 6-12 hours.

I bought my switch for BoTW and I’ve mostly just kept it for part 2 but i always find a couple games a year i like on nintendo, mostly exclusive indie, jrpgs or nintendo games. I don’t play multiplatform games on it since i dont use it in handheld mode.

This year was triangle strategy, xenoblade 3, mario + rabbids 2, and I’ll eventually pick up Live A Live on sale

Yeah I'm looking at Xenoblade 3 in particular but I at least want to finish getting through Xenogears on PS1 first (not sure if it's necessary or not though) since i've been going through a PS1 JRPG binge lately

Xenogears, Xenosaga, and Xenoblade are 3 separate series so they don’t really have anything in common if thats what you mean

Copped two of these. Damn shame that I can't trust Nintendo on these. Hall Effect so these damn things don't drift.
