Top selling Switch games for June

June 2018 NPD: Mario Tennis Aces serves up a smash hit for Nintendo

Mario Tennis Aces was the top selling game for June overall :ehh:

While Nintendo has made strides in getting more 3rd party support for Switch, looking at the list it's still clear why you pick up a Switch. That Nintendo dominance :wow:, aside from Lego and Crash.

I'm gonna be honest, if you can catch wolfenstein for $30 or under you should probably cop that if you haven't for any other system.

One of the things I'll praise is that unlike 2 other games I've been playing heavily (resident evil revelations 2 and Zelda) when the action gets heavy I'm not noticing much of a drop.

Theres a heavy drop in framerate on RE2, I play raid mode where basically you kill hoards of infecteD / zombies when 4 come at you, you start playing in slow motion, keep in mind I'm undocked.

I was playing botw and fighting a lynel in the coliseum undocked and he'd swing the flame blade causing lots of fire and I would do a flurry attack and it was pretty rough.

On wolfenstein there's a couple of levels where you just get swarmed by Nazi guys and some machines all shooting you and I havent noticed the significant dropa. I gotta give props where it's due. I don't care for the story but it's a good shooter with good performance.

R4i, the team behind numerous flashcarts for the NDS and 3DS, is now investing in the Nintendo Switch scene. The company revealed their solution to run custom firmware on the Nintendo Switch: the R4S Dongle.

This USB-C dongle is a plug-and-play solution to inject the necessary RCM payload required to boot your system on a custom firmware. The official website claims that it works on any Nintendo Switch system on any firmware and while they also state that it currently supports "most NSP games and many XCI games", the R4S is fully updateable for future support. The R4S Dongle also packs a 120 mAh LiPo battery but should there be any issues with the device, the one year warranty will cover it.

More details are available in the source link below and if you want to share your thoughts about this new competitor in the Switch scene, do so in the ongoing discussion thread also linked below!

---

Basically the same as SX Pro just cheaper knock off. Will still be tethered so the dongle will have to be plugged in on every hard reset just like SX.

I'm interested to see how much this'll cost and how much it'll drive down SX pro's price :manny:

Finally copped some more games for my Switch today because of those deals at Meijer

Got Mario Tennis, Mario Kart, Captain Toad and Sonic Mania for $150 :ehh:

Wasn't sure if I'd enjoy Octopath so I'm going to wait until the price drops on that one.
