Two great games releasing this Friday in Octopath Traveler and Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker
Who's in for either one?

Copping "Octopath Traveler" but I really shouldn't. My backlog for games is silly. SILLY. I'm still mad early in "Divinity: Original Sin 2" and got like 280 games on Steam.

What's wrong? I'm pretty lukewarm on this game. I prefer to have a proper antagonist and save the world in my JRPGs and this is 8 different small scale stories.

The preview thread was a disaster despite getting mostly positive reception, so im not surprised.
And the game isn't even getting bad scores at all for a new JRPG.

What's wrong? I'm pretty lukewarm on this game. I prefer to have a proper antagonist and save the world in my JRPGs and this is 8 different small scale stories.

Cancel your preorder and wait for a sale cause there's no world saving apparently.

I know what it is. I heard it's 8 small personal stories. I'll still buy and play it as a fan of the genre. I'll be picking this up and Shining Refrain tomorrow.

I read reviews but if I'm genuinely interested I buy anyway. When the initial impressions limited to 20 hours came out a week ago or whatever I really understood that this game wasn't what I wanted it to be but I'll judge it for what it is. Problem is I'm playing Zero no Kiseki and will be jumping into Ao no Kiseki right after so it might be a few weeks before I start it proper.

People making hyperbolic statements, canceling pre-orders/not buying game based off of one "Bad review"(Not really bad, just not great.), dismissing reviewers opinions, concern-trolling. You know, the usual.

Jason Scheier of Kotaku had already expressed disappointment in the Octopath preview thread, I knew from then people would hold his review as gospel.

Its sitting at 85 on metacritic.

Based off the demo im pretty sure im gonna love it. I havent looked at or read anything other than that. I was copping from the first time it got showed at the switch reveal
