Played a bit of Mario last night.

Felt a bit guilty at experiencing that new Nintendo magic without my kids so I only played for about 30 minutes, then put it back up for Christmas.

Suprised at how quick set up was. Update literally took seconds and I was playing Mario within minutes.

Huge change coming from Xbox that literally took hours before I played my first game. Part of the reason I opened it early was to get all of that stuff out the way, but I see I really didn't need to.

Graphics were better than I expected on the tablet, I didn't hook it up to a tv.

Everything does feel a bit small and cheap though. For these to be $70 controllers they feel too much like a toy for my liking.

I know it sounds dumb but the game and the case it came in don't feel like it's worth $60. I know it's just a cartridge, but in my head a $60 game is a disc with a large case. Feels like I paid $60 for a gameboy game:heh:

Gonna buy myself a real controller asap.

Otherwise I'm more than happy with it. Have not owned a Nintendo since GameCube, so I'm excited. Hopefully they port all the Wii U games I missed.
Get the pro controller for sure if you plan on playing it extensively.

Def cop Zelda too, (even though I thought it was a little overrated it was still a good game)

If you cop Xenoblade just play it on the TV not portable, but its a great game as well. I've only played those 3 and Mario Kart though.

Hey anybody tried that Hori wired controller?

The prices for these controllers are

I won't be playing much, and don't mind the wire if the controller works properly.

I mean it looks pretty close to the pro controller but idk.

I can tell you the pro controller is a surprisingly great controller. I really like, it has enough heft to it, ergonomic, and the best part about this thing is I charge and on god this thing doesn't start blinkin low battery for like a month, it's crazy.

:skip:I've charged my Pro Controller maybe 3 times since getting it on Switch release day. And mind you I've put in well over 50 hours in MK8, zelda and mario odyssey each.

Almost 200hrs on Zelda alone :banderas:. Probably 50/50 on portable and docked for odyssey and plenty of time with the kids on mk8.

That 40hrs for the pro controller worth it.

I've watched reviews for all types of pro controller alternatives and the wired ones never review better than "OK"
Best Switch pro controller alternative is the 8bitdo SN30/SF30 pro

The wiiu pro controller is crazy. I swear I could play for months without charging especially bayonetta but if I recall correctly it didn't have rumble. The switch one is good too.

It had rumble but it didn't have amiibo support or gyro controls. Switch pro controller has both. It also doesn't have both analog sticks at the top. That was a terrible idea
