Bruh Nintendo sets the price for the Switch 2. Not the US. You must be tripping.

Correct. But after they set their price, they have to ship it to the United States, where the US supplier (e.g., Walmart, Gamestop, whatever) has to pay the US government a tax on it. So Nintendo probably factored like $30-40 or so into the price to cover the tariff..and now they have to factor in like $200, because nobody thought there was going to be a 50% tarriff out of Vietnam and 60% out of China. It’s a fukking mess.

The parents buying games now....are young Gen X, Millenials and the oldest Gen Zers. That means, games are being bought by people that grew up gaming and know the various alternatives (PS5, Xbox, Steam/ROG, PC etc).

Nintendo has strong brand loyalty which helps.....but spending potentially $500 for some PS3/early PS4 graphics and playing the same damn games we played on Wii, Wii U and Switch.......

Wife and I each have a Switch 1. It's fun to play with sometimes. Sat in the lobby and played Mario Kart while she got her teeth cleaned...and she did the same when I got my teeth cleaned. Not seeing a good reason to upgrade. Cartoon graphics are fine on S1. Don't need S2 for that.

Afters years of championing or spending hundreds of dollars on hardware and peripherals and random HD remake upgrades the same folks want to act like Nintendo is out of pocket for following the trend you established was ok.


Dudes was buying PSVR2 an addon for a system for more than the actual system cost at launch, bought a PS portals at launch that only let you stream games from the system to it and then bought a pro version of a machine they already owned for 700.

Now these same folks got concerns.
