people said the same thing about Kodak and its gone now.
IBM would never falter, look at what happened to it.

No company is immune from failing if they don't have good management.
:mindblown: what the fukk are you talking about? Everyone knew and said Kodak was going to die cause they refused to adapt in the digital era.

And what do you mean look at what happened to IBM? Are you under the wrong assumption that IBM has died out or something :wtf: its one of the top 50
Companies in the world and has been for like 30 years in a row :wtf:

This is literally one of the worst posts ive ever read here :wtf:

True. IBM failed because they were product focused.
If you told the leadership at IBM 'computers are dead we need to start developing car seat covers, its the future' they would be like :camby:
But if you tell Nintendo 'video games are dead we need to start focusing on XYZ' they are gonna listen to your pitch.

They used to make playing cards.
They switched to video games cause they understood how awesome it was on the strength of the power glove.
Now they are moving into mobile devices and wireless cause thats where things are headed.

Its a fluid company.
I wouldn't say they are fluid.
They are conservative to the point where it looks like its going to fail and they usually out of neccessity change with the times.

Just think how much better they would be if they actually produced and put out Pokemon Go rather than licensing it out and only getting 13% of the revenue.
I know today they lost 18% of their value and it only was 18% because that is the cap on value loss on the Japanese exchange.

That said mobile gaming is a avenue that is proven viable to them now and they have all the IPs you could ever want to make a killing that way.

The resources they would use probably would cost too much and it wouldn't have been as successful. Ninantec (or whatever they're called) basically repurposed their old game to fit Pokémon.

Basically why struggle to create a LeBron James when you can go get LeBron James

Everyone knew Kodak was going to die at the end when it was over, but if you would have told people in the 60s or 70s those two companies would struggle mightly and one wouldn't fail entirely they would look at you like you were crazy.

You probably need to do some research and educate yourself regarding the fall IBM took. There dominance and fall and re-emergence is one of your go to case studies if you ever took a business course.
IBM was the largest private company in the world, they most successful company in the world. Late 80s and early 90s IBM was taking heavy losses and had to sell off divisions (logitech, Lexmark, just a to name some of the spin offs) and eventually. It was a major fall and one of the greatest recoveries in modern business history. Read up on it.

Its clear you have no idea what you are talking about though, so I'll let you cook with the smilies.

I feel you but if that what the case why not just pay LeBron to be on your time, rather than buy a spot on his jersey.

Pokemon Go is most useful to them as a marketshare tool. They have no problem moving poke prodects but have completely saturated their target demographic already.

They had achieved a near cap on the pokemon brand's marketshare with young boys and so the Go app allows expansion into shadow demographics (girls, adults) that the brand was missing. Likewise the new interest has caused a spike in pokemon products (which nintendo owns across the board). I am seeing it first hand cause I own a bookstore. People are ordering old pokemon related shyt out of nowhere.
The company is using Go as a mass marketing tool and its resulting in sells of all sorts of poke products.

I got an order for this mag from 1999 from someone in Russia this week. :dead:
Nintendo knows what its doing.

I'm sitting on a vintage pokemon boardgame that I'm gonna try and flip for a few hundred. :lupe: Still in the wrapper.

If it works like that fine, cant knock it.
But you know if you could it would be nice to get all the revenue from Pokemon Go and get the benefit of expanded brand awareness.

Out of the big 3 sony is the most at risk, and has been for quite some time. But nobody wants to admit that

They climbing out the rut that the PS3 did. Not to mention that their films like Ghostbusters flopped. :francis:

Forget about the Vita.
