I'm going to quote this after each game.

Game 1 AD 37 and 10 vs Jokic 21 and 6

Means nothing. AD couldn't do shyt with his own team... you can't take his ring away (I'm assuming LA wins through) but LeBron is what makes the team go and that's all there is to it. The pressure is off AD.

If AD was the type of player that was leading his teams to conference finals and struggling to get over the hump there would be a point to the discussion but they weren't even competitive.

Basketball is a team game.....the Pelicans at no point had a team that had a chance in the playoffs while AD was there

They had a good enough roster to make noise. They had Cousins, Jrue, Rondo.. enough players to make something out of the team. I've seen LeBron carry bums to 60 wins.

AD was a failure as a leader but he's a top flight second option.

Breh cousins played 17 games one season (season he was traded to NO) and 48 games the next season with NO. So in two years he played a total of 65 games out of a total of 164 games in two seasons.

Using Cousins as an example of the "help" that AD had in NO is not the hill you want to die on.

This is pretty much the Dirk vs. Garnett dilemma. One play is otherworldly offensively, and just bad/mediocre defensively, and the other guy is great on both ends.

Not only that when they matched up folks always talked about how dirk teams won. But never factor in that Garnett would score hos 20 plus grab his 10 plus boards and guard dirk the entire game. While dirk would score his 20 plus grab his 10 plus boards and NOT guard garnett at all. Dirk would spend the whole game guarding bum ass Timberwolve centers like Ervin Johnson and the rest of the stiffs they had at center.

DMC was traded there halfway through one season, the next season he tore his achilles. And when he was healthy the offense was slowed down with both of them on the court together. In other words the pieces didn't fit.

So no, he never had a roster capable of anything important. Rondo was on his 4th team in 3 years, we're not going to re-write history in 2020 to make him into a valuable commodity because they're both balling on the Lakers now. AD never had anything close to the supporting cast Jokic has.

None of this takes away from the second option point though, pretty much the ideal fit to LeBron.

Cousins was putting up like 25+ a game.. How much help does AD need to make a team legitimate?

Eric Gordon and Ryan Anderson went to the Rockets and we’re key players on a team a game away from the Finals, that’s a myth that he didn’t have talent around him. He’s not a franchise player but he’s the ultimate Scottie Pippen

Jokic is, at the moment, overrated cause people are :krs: at the novelty of a point center...the way I see it, basketball...WINNING championship basketball is more than anything about delegation of duties so that you maximize the talent on the squad... having a center as a primary playmaker is cute and cool and all that, but from a value standpoint is tempored by the fact there's no shortage of guards to be had that could do it instead...what can't (most) guards do? Anchor your defense, protect the rim, effectively guard either player in a big/guard pick and roll...and guess what, Jokic ain't doing it either...pretty no look passes, oh we got those all day...all while muhfukkas getting to the rim like they got a EZ pass or guards are getting whatever they want from open looks off switches

AD is not gonna be your primary playmaker, but who gives a shyt :mjlol:...he's one of the best two or 3 defenders in the league and scoring at a ridiculous clip of volume and efficiency... ALWAYS give me the elite two way player....all this "bu bu but he didn't win when he was in NO" When

1. Those teams were ass...

2. The Nuggets ain't won shyt either :russ:....two playoff trips, one ending in the 2nd round to a just aiight Blazers squad... Scrapped and clawed to get out the first round against the jazz, by literally one basket in game 7 in large part thanks to offensive explosions from Murray (who on the Pelicans did AD play with capable of dropping multiple 50 point games to save him from getting put out the first round?)....beat the clippers, which I won't hate on...and are about to get waxed by the Lakers while AD outplays Jokic on both ends of the court... y'all talk like these Nuggets are running the league or some shyt

3. Mentioned this earlier in the thread, but what about the other side of the "bu bu but Jokic lead Denver to 1 round further in the playoffs than AD did NO, once" or "I bet AD couldn't lead this Nugget team to a 2nd round victory" coin? The Lakers are the favorites to win the chip, to a large part due to their defense....a defense that went from subpar last year to one of the best in the league with the arrival of AD...Are the Lakers better with Jokic in AD's place?

I'll take the guy that can give you 30 and 10 along with DPOY defense every night... hes not gonna give me as long of a "pretty pass" YouTube package, but there won't be as many ones of Mitchell dropping 57 on his head either
