"Afro Americans, which I would define as the sons and daughters of slaves and slave owners."

I mean...I've always known some of the emotional fuel behind ADOS was some people wanting to declare that they are racially, genetically distinct from Africans.

Based on comments by some of the people here who were early adopters, like that Meta guy. Further confirmed by Yvette's comment about us not being real "Africans" due to our European ancestry.

So 1 or 2 people is all it takes to lambast everybody else huh? That's a hell of a standard that could be used to make as many counter narratives as yall like to do.

As far as the genetic thing you got going, I don't believe those peoples' points who you've misconstrued made them in an attempt to differentiate us from everybody else along the lines of superiority or inferiority (for fukk sake we've been running with this "everybody that's black is family" for the longest) but some of us do have that ancestry. It happen and it can't be changed, sure as fukk weren't no heroes coming to the rescue then or now. Its another part of the tragedy that lends itself to the justice claim for reparations.

It was more like nikkas saying they ain’t us because their culture is rich and our is apparently not. Some of us just said “you right, you do you”

Breh, it's not just them. They're just two examples. I've seen this sentiment expressed many times on here, LSA, and other social media.

I even remember someone on here, can't remember their moniker, said "real nikkas have massa's blood", or something like that.

It's not about wanting to be different but just acknowledging that most of us due have mixed blood somewhere in our American lineage.

That's not saying we are better than Africans, or that we want to be white. You can't just ignore history because it is hurtful or uncomfortable.

I think it's deeper than that for some people. And I'll just leave it at that.

What's crazy is -- the people who I see using Antebellum slurs and "massa" this and that -- are usually not ADOS. It's usually a diss thrown our way.

Also, I have noticed on LSA more so than here -- that non-ADOS make "blackness" about DNA percentages and skin-tone. On LSA -- light-skin black folks are called "Mixed" or "bi-racial" first - before Black American. Even though - they are from two ADOS parents.

You can tell how people be going in on Yvette - calling her White and stuff -- cause she's light-skin and has a high amount of non-African DNA/blood.

To me she looks like family -- as in my own maternal family I have light-brights damn near whites -- and it's not because my folks were out here IR/swirling. It was due to rape. Ain't nobody claiming rapist blood - but we recognize and understand how we got it.

I just got my mom's DNA test back last week -- and she' s over 25% white. We all know why -- and have tracked her pedophile, rapist white Great Grandaddy's family down with the help of DNA Ancestry test.

I still think this boils down to ADOS finally being proud of who we are -- and where we come from. Knowing our ancestors were enslaved, violated, raped, sold -- etc -- but still loving, honoring and respecting them, their legacy, their stories and ourselves.
