So when Africans treat Indians badly in Africa it's cool, but when Indians treat Africans badly in India it's bad...:russ:

If Indians can go to Nigeria and prosper but Nigerians can't do the same in India that's their problem. Let them stay in Nigeria.

One of the problems is that the first Nigerians to come places like India are usually the drug dealers and gangsters, then the students, workers and businessmen follow. The Nigerians have been involved in organized crime in Mumbai since at least the 80's. So that combined with the general opinion of black people from American movies, the colour discrimination inherent in India and 19th century racial theories left by the British, shyt drummed by the media/politicians that 'outsiders' have been causing trouble etc. all come together to make Indians treat Nigerians and other Africans like crap. Similar story in Pakistan - the Nigerians have been running drugs from here for a while, so any poor African chap's luggage is thoroughly inspected, even if he's there only to buy textiles or second hand clothing.

As for Indians in Africa, they were brought in initially by whites (so they have that stamp of approval), they brought in and built businesses over time, which has a direct and indirect positive impact on the economy, even if they're racist as fukk and keep to them selves. Hence, Africans don't have a huge problem, but Indian mid-level labour is direct competition, especially in places like Nigeria.

That's not the case really. Almost every African country is a non-democratic despotic state. Despite the c00nish end quote at the end of the article in the second post, most Africans know what's up and strongly oppose foreign influence (Western powers all over diamond reserves, Chinese neo-colonialism etc.) but going up against the likes of Mugabe or Kabila is just not worth it for most who value their lives and a lot of locals have to take whatever jobs they can and roll with it since the state won't protect them.

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2012/jan/02/china-zimbabwe-workers-abuse

I think most Africans just accept their shytty situation since they know they can't 'vote' these corrupt despots out of power and don't want it with their armies. As you said, there's zero home base to protect them.

This just validates my point. Docility and fear is something that plagues the African people. All across the Arab world you've had pockets of people stand up against their regimes (Yemen, Egypt, Tunisia, Libya). Why hasn't this taken hold in more places throughout Africa?

But I've heard stories and read articles about African warlords and militants fighting to the death. So it seems like Africans only have words to other Africans but never to other races.

My people lost everywhere breh :snoop:

Like another poster said, I wish black people were more cautious and exclusive like other races. I wish blacks had weaponry so we could punish other groups like they do us. I am so disappointed. :snoop:

If you let a man into your house and allow him to stay without paying homage, he will never leave, and he might come to kick you out!

I agree with the first part of your post, but not the second. Indians doing well in Nigeria was made possible by colonial history on a number of levels- it paved the way for skilled Indian laborers to migrate during the colonial era, when they benefited from occupying a slightly higher rung on the racial ladder than Africans and additional educational access in their backgrounds, and in the modern era, colonial history was what left India in a better place during its independence than a country like Nigeria. There are other social issues at work here- it's not just any old Indian who ends/ended up in Africa. The Nigerians in Goa now are mostly dirt-poor, uneducated illegal immigrants who were desperate for a hustle, not skilled laborers who came to exploit an emerging market.

Second, for the rest of the posters here, you also have to remember that Goa is a popular tourist destination. There's an incentive to keep the place as friendly to Israelis and Europeans (who make up most of the tourist population) there. You do that by keeping illegal immigrants, especially Africans, out of the public eye. Not that this excuses the anti-Black racism elsewhere in India, but there are a variety of socioeconomic factors at work there.

"Coolie" in Southern African society refers to South Asians but it's actually fairly derogatory (refers to their former status as unskilled labourers). I know the term is used in the Caribbean but what connotations does it carry there?
ur wrong. the term comes from hill coolies who were the first indian slaves "indentured servants" sent to africa by the dutch

Africans treat Indians badly? I've never been to India but I've been to Africa and have African parents and experience tells me it's actually quite the opposite. Africans give Indians and other foreigners considerable access and treat some of the biggest foreign a$$holes with dignity and respect.

It's not a matter of 'hating' your kind inherently. I just don't appreciate the fact that they exploit the hell out of African industries with impunity while not contributing to African societies (or respecting them for that matter) and simultaneously treat Africans like dogs, profile them and rebuff them in India.

Your last comment is just idiocy. They can't "prosper" because India is racist as hell. Did you not read the second article? Indians did not come to African countries on a whim and get rich. It all dates back to colonial times when they came to the continent as indentured servants and gained access to special privileges that African natives did not.

You're absolutely right. I kind of worded myself badly in that quote as I neglected to mention the fact that a lot of Africans play that "don't be racist" bullshyt when foreigners WHO THEY KNOW are up to no good come into their countries and take all of their jobs, control all of their industries. Big oversight on my part actually.

Africans need to kill their leaders off already I completely agree.

I'm so glad you responded to that before I could :whew:

I think we all know you did it a lot better and more civil than I would have.

The ignorance of his post was ironic on so many levels considering his an Indian on a hip hop board... talking shyt.
