US-Based Nigerian Doctor Erinne Held My Daughter, Grandchildren At Gunpoint For 3 Hours Before Suicide After $15,000 Child Support Ruling –Businessman Francis Van-Lare

NEWS
SaharaReporters earlier reported that 36-year-old Erinne reportedly took his own life on January 26, after a US court ultimately ruled in favour of his ex-wife, ordering Erinne to pay $15,000 in monthly child support.
US-based Nigerian businessman and popular Facebook celebrity, Francis Van-Lare, aka Poi Master, has spoken out about the death of his son-in-law, Dr. Ikenna Erinne, a cardiologist who reportedly committed suicide after losing a child support case to his ex-wife, Suzzette Chibuogu Van-Lare.
SaharaReporters earlier reported that 36-year-old Erinne reportedly took his own life on January 26, after a US court ultimately ruled in favour of his ex-wife, ordering Erinne to pay $15,000 in monthly child support.

The US-based doctor, originally from Anambra State, had been embroiled in a lengthy divorce and custody battle with Suzzette.
In a social media post, Francis Van-Lare, who was married to popular relationship coach, Amara Nwosu, said Erinne held his daughter and grandchildren at gunpoint for three hours before eventually killing himself.
He said, “While there was a custody battle my daughter (Suzzette Chibuogu Van-Lare) is involved in and I only became aware last Monday morning about 3 am Nigerian time that the deceased (Dr Ikenna Erinne) held her and her children at gun point for three hours after losing a custody battle, the nanny managed to escape and called the police and on arrival of the police he shot himself dead.

“I guess he decided to kiII himself instead of facing three counts of kidnapping with a deadly weapon 25 years to life each.
“While I sympathize with his family for his death, my daughter is not responsible for him taking his own life and I thank God it did not degenarate to where he shoots my daughter, grand children and himself.”
“May his soul rest in peace. Everyone is loser here and it is traumatizing for all including me. No winners here,” he added.
Erinne and Suzzette had their traditional wedding on May 22, 2020 in the US.
Confirming the suicide earlier in an X post, a Nigerian-American, Clayton Udo, said, “Ikenna Erinne was a cardiologist. He died on the 26th of January this year by suicide after he went to court and they awarded his ex-wife $15,000 a month in child support.
“There are thousands of cases like this happening around the United States, and even in Europe where men are being destroyed by the system on behalf of African women. And this is a classical example. He killed himself actually, he actually shot himself.
“You would think and wonder well, why did he have to do that? Well, he spent thousands of dollars in legal fees – wasted money – I am talking about a process that impoverishes you. At the end of the story, you go to court, they take all your money.
“And they are gonna award the house, of course, to the woman with the children. And they are gonna restrict your access to the children. You can only see them every Wednesday, every two weeks on a Wednesday or once a month as the case may be.”
Udo added that Erinne lost his license as a cardiologist during the case.
Dr. Erinne was an alumnus of the Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Port Harcourt.
The school alumni mourned the death of the cardiologist in an Instagram post on Saturday, saying, “Dr. Ikenna Erinne, class of 2004, a devoted father, son, brother, and esteemed cardiologist, passed away suddenly on January 26, 2025.
“Born on 4 March 1988, he was known for his unwavering compassion, intellect, and dedication to saving lives.
“His impact as a medical professional was profound, touching countless patients, colleagues, and his community. Beyond his career, he was a loving father to Ugonna and Munachi, a cherished son to Engr. Chris and Mrs. Chinwe Erinne, and a beloved brother to Chuks, Onyi, Kenny, and Gechi. His warmth, generosity, and sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him.”
The alumni disclosed the a “Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, 3 February 2025, at Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, Elkridge, Maryland, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.”
This will be followed by “interment at Meadowridge Memorial Park”.
“Friends and family will gather to honor his remarkable life and legacy, cherishing the memories he created,” the alumni added.

US-based Nigerian doctor killed self over $1,900 child support, not $15,000 — Father-in-law

3rd February 2025
Dr Ikenna Erinne

Late US-based Nigerian cardiologist, Dr Ikenna Erin

Francis Van-Lare, the father-in-law to United States-based Nigerian cardiologist, Dr Ikenna Erinne, has refuted claims that the late doctor took his own life due to financial strain from a $15,000 monthly child support ruling.
He made this disclosure on Monday as a clarification to the viral claim.
According to him, it was just $1,900 which the late doctor paid partially sometimes.
Van-Lare also dispelled the claim that Erinne was a peaceful and quiet guy while sharing screenshots of restraining orders from state of Maryland Court circuit.

The father of Erinne’s estranged partner wrote, “Liars everywhere. He killed himself to avoid paying $1,900.00 monthly which he pays partially sometimes. He was not asked to pay $15,000 a month as alleged. Dead beat dad!
“Go to the state of Maryland Court circuit and check numerous restraining orders. Quiet and peaceful guy my foot. Any more rubbish talk about my family, I will share more revelations.
“I am a bull dozer and will bull doze any lying blogger. Nobody should blame my daughter for the embarrassment he caused everyone.”
Recall that the tragic death of the 36-year-old cardiologist has sparked intense debate and widespread reactions from Nigerians both at home and abroad.
Francis Van-Lare has alleged that before his suicide, the deceased doctor held his daughter and grandchildren hostage at gunpoint for three hours.

He ultimately turned the weapon on himself when police arrived.
Van-Lare, a socialite and public figure, made the claim on his official Facebook account on Sunday.
This was in response to an earlier post by Facebook user Amanda Chisom, who clarified that Erinne’s ex-partner was not a white woman, as widely speculated, but Van-Lare’s daughter.
He further said, “While my daughter was involved in a custody battle, I only became aware around 3am Nigerian time last Monday that the deceased held her and her children at gunpoint for three hours after losing the case.
“The nanny managed to escape and called the police, and upon their arrival, he shot himself.”
He also revealed that Erinne was facing three counts of kidnapping with a deadly weapon, each carrying a sentence of 25 years to life in prison.
“I guess he decided to kill himself instead of facing the charges,” he added.
Despite the shocking nature of the incident, Van-Lare expressed sympathy for the late doctor’s family, clarifying that his daughter was not responsible for his decision to take his own life.
“While I sympathise with his family, my daughter is not to blame for his death. And I thank God it did not escalate to where he shot my daughter, grandchildren, and himself,” the father-in-law stated.

owning a gun exacerbated the poor choices he was making.

he knew his life was over once the police arrived. :shaq2:
The case was going on for a while he probably bought it during the case or right after he lost

Seeing that he only killed himself once the police showed up he definitely was gonna kill them after he finished venting :francis: fukk him he trash for that now everyone got permanent trauma

Edit: never mind.

This dude was legitimately crazy if he was holding people hostage at gunpoint.:picard:

Sad for all involved. However, if she had restraining orders, etc and he held them hostage with a gun then it’s clear he was a problem.

Thank goodness she has her dad to support her and defend her name.

Still, very sad he didn’t get the mental health support that he clearly needed. Glad he didn’t harm her or the kids, but this…just tragic smh
