her natural hair
once again emotions are clouding this
i'll say this and real people would agree
IF NICKI WAS FAT AND UGLY WITH A MUSTACHE ETC she wouldn't be getting the support, the stanning, the money, etc
but because so many people want to f her she's getting a pass
missy> nicki
missy's verse on why stop now remix>nicki's career
Busta Rhymes - Why Stop Now (Remix) Ft. Missy Elliott, Lil' Wayne - YouTube
dont care about the hate i get
besides this topic is long as dudes want f u c k she's gone be relevant
tersely, my argument, is that missy can not rap.. nicki can spit. now whether you like what she's spitting about is a whole other something, ha, but she can rap. she is by far a better spitter than missy.
C'mon with the bullshyt. This sounds like another excuse for parents to not actually be parents. If you don't want your child to listen to Nicki do you protest Nicki, try to get her banned, and complain about the industry or do you tell your child you don't want them listening to her nonsense. Why complain that she exists when you as a parent have every means to explain why what she is doing isn't something you should model yourself after? Everyone here is into hip hop. Most of us listened to 90s hip hop as kids or teenagers where dudes talked about slinging, murder, kidnapping, killing cops, being disrespectful, and every misogynistic topic known to man. But you're mad she is talking to kids about dressing weird and being a weirdo? She's a character calm down
to each his own i guess, but i'd buy a missy cd before a nicki one
so where do you rank nicki as far as female mc's of all time whats your top 5 femcees?
This is my problem with your viewpoint. You know that what you listened to in the past was wrong and destructive, easily far more controversial then what Nicki is doing for that matter, yet you chose to do it anyway. Fast forward into the future and you don't even trust your daughter to have to common sense to recognize a character when she sees one. Obviously you know her a lot better then me and you're more aware of her capabilities, but I would think someone old enough to actively seek out her music is also capable of filtering what they accept into their life and model themselves after.Im not excited and I'm not mad. You need to calm down and quit making assumptions about me. I am a parent, and I have talked to my daughter about n minaj and the entertainment industry as a whole. The comparison was made with lil Kim and I simply stated why I thought the nicki minaj situation was worse.
Again when we were kids parents and the media both protested the content of the music, and most of the bad stuff was shown late night. We were not allowed to buy albums with a parental advisory sticker and tupac was not on nickelodeon. We knew it was wrong and we snuck to do it.
Now nicki minaj is performing with 8 year old girls on good morning America. Even if I monitor what my kid watches she will still be exposed to this fukkary. Nicki minaj and her destructive image is not only accepted in mainstream society but encouraged amongst young women. Like I said, it's damaging and it's a damn shame.

Nothing Nicki is rapping about is worse then what they can see in an action movie or what hasn't already existed in some capacity. Why single her out?
Because she is purposely marketed to children. My daugter is 6 I have never listened to nicki minaj and we dont realy listen to the radio or watch videos in my household. Yet my daughter knows about her from CHILDREN'S tv. Nicki minaj is promoted on the Disney channel. I trust my daughter and I'm am not worried about nicki minaj influencing her to much, but the sad truth is, most kids don't have parents who care or who are informed enough to guide their children in the correct direction. As a society we should be more responsible with the images we promote to young people.
And one last thing. In my opinion as a parent. Sexual images are much more damaging to kids than cursing and violence. Cursing is just words, and they know violence is all an act. But when young women see these images of nicki minaj and others in the industry, they want to look and act like these women. They equate the attention these women get to respect. So they think if they want to be loved and respected they need to act and look like nicki minaj. Plenty of girls self esteem issues stem from these images in the media.
