Nicki's been trash for a minute. Especially since dude stopped writing for her. Way too many reaches to go pop. It's been corny forever. Any song with weak sales, that just happens to end up #1 on Billboard, is what the industry calls a "manufactured hit". This means the label is spending money to make sure the record charts. It's not like it used to be where actual fans were going out and spending their money to buy singles and albums. This is another example of how companies will pay keep a song alive and to force it on listeners.
Atlantic did the same with Jack Harlow. Pay for the exposure, but the people didn't return the love by supporting the music with purchases. Dude just bombed performing in front of a college crowd at Ohio State yesterday. People wanted him off the stage. So what you see now on these charts, and with these fake "platinum" certifications for free streams, and not actual sales, never seem to match what's actually going on with the people. It's all label-driven.
