Yeah, "Against All Odds" still gives me the chills, it's more cinematic and mature sounding. The childishness of "Hit Em Up" is a little off putting 20 years later, but at the time I rocked with it.
I kind of agree with you....but the reaction that hit em up caused in every hood is something I don't think we'd seen before.....maybe ether comes in at a close second based on reaction. Hit em up had everybody in their FEELINGS either one way or another.....it's was crazy and I distinctly remember every car that passed by wit windows down had it playing....black, Latino, Asian and white.....that song was game changing all over. The song basically had the feeling that this beef HAD TO END badly, it caused a lot of negative emotion one way or the other.....that summer was bananas.....and pac passed by the end of it

a lot of rappers have benefited from not coming up in the social media era
as much of a g unit fan I am, imagine if there was social media when 300 bars/you know what it is vol 1 dropped.. theres no way g unit would have been able to just ignore game the way they did
