Based on the Pulitzer Prize winning novel by Colson Whitehead, Nickel Boys chronicles the powerful friendship between two young African American men navigating the harrowing trials of reform school together in Florida.

Similar to Underground Railroad, incredible novel but watching an adaptation on screen is gonna be an arduous task. Underground Railroad the series was a master piece tho.

This one kinda has a Terrence Malick-y feel to it, which is a little bit of a turn-off to me tho.

I enjoyed the movie, but the FPS view took me some time to get used to. It took a good 20-30 minutes for me to really get into the movie, but I think that also had to do with the plot. Really sad movie though.
