I think you mean Nick?

I think Nick can definately stand and bang with the spider, look how he destroyed BJ Penn just with striking. With regards to size, IIRC, Nick walks around at the 180 mark and has fought at middleweight so I don't think Anderson's size will be an issue

Don't sleep on Nick....this dream match needs to happen

Penn is trash at WW and Diaz destroyed his with his reach. He won't have that advantage over Silva. Silva is faster and will avoid those slow ass strikes of Diaz while peppering all night

The Opponents
Even after Silva retires, the debate about whether he reigned over a weak division or was simply that much better than anyone else will probably live on. But the objective evidence showed that he certainly fought worthy opposition most of the time.

Most telling of his talent is his record of success against men who held titles in major organizations at some point of their careers. Against those opponents (Franklin twice, Dan Henderson, Forrest Griffin, Vitor Belfort and Nate Marquardt), Silva was 6-0 with 5 knockouts and 1 submission. Four of those fights were finished in the first round, and none of the six made it past the second.

Prior to facing Silva, his opponents had a combined record of 283 wins, 68 losses, 4 draws and 3 no contest, for a winning percentage of .803. Given that, there's no question that Silva faced a series of winners. And he largely dominated them.

It's not just that he won; it's how he did it. In eight of his 15 fights, he landed more than double the strikes of his opponent. Four times, opponents failed to land even 10 strikes against him. Think about that for a second, the level of supremacy needed to completely shut down an attack. Although James Irvin was far from his toughest opponent, Silva might have had his perfect fight against him. Why? Irvin landed no strikes. Zero. Leben did a little better, hitting Silva a single time. Griffin managed just four landed strikes. Belfort had six. Sonnen has been the only one to out-strike him in a fight, though he did it on two occasion

what about wiedman?
u are not buying into the zuffa coolaid are u :rudy:what else is he suppose to do to get ppl to notice him.You think ppl knew sonnen like that before he started talkin reckless about anderson? nahyeah it seems him and rashad have been reading excerpts from the same play bookokami hadnt been finished in 9 years.........................................................................................................................................until silva :manny:

Haha no sipping here...I just think Chris is showing a lot of Potential, I don't think he deserves a title shot just yet but folks shouldn't dismiss him as a possible future contender
Anderson is the GOAT, but I doubt he would sub Weidman breh. The dude's wrestling and JJ is on another level. I think Anderson would TKO him, but Weidman has better wrestling technique than Chael and his transitions are sick. Plus, Weidman is younger and more athletic than Chael and he has the same reach as Anderson and the same height as well I believe, so I do believe Weidman will be a challenge to Anderson, which is what Anderson needs, cuhz the nikka be getting bored with MMA at times and be like :childplease: :pachaha: :smugdraper: :mjpls: when he trains and even fights too. And I doubt Weidman vs. Rashad happens, Weidman is at 185 and Rashad said he ain't going to 185 at all unless he gets Anderson which ain't gonna happen either.

Wiedman will give Silva trouble there is no question about that however Silva is the G.O.A.T and like I said the fight will mimick Siva vs Sonnen 1

Dana said Wiedmann cuts a lot of weight to fight at 185 so I don't see a problem with him fighting Rashad at 205

Man....you are sleeping on Nicks stand up

Naw, I respect Nick's boxing. I just don't believe he is going to be able to press forward and pin Silva against the cage with those lunging hooks. Andersen would light his ass up.

Diaz will be coming off of a suspension and a loss to a similar fighter to Silva(Condit is a tall, lanky striker with good footwork and cardio....Silva is a superior version of Condit). You could make a case that this would've been worse than Sonnen getting an immediate rematch after 117.

Diaz doesn't deserve Silva but Randy didn't deserve Sylvia so...:yeshrug:

Diaz's return would probably be around Superbowl weekend, correct? And Silva would probably be ready to fight by that time....I'd buy it.

Exactly, ppl want to say gsp has faced upper echelon while AS has feasted on bums.Welll whats the excuse for dan hardy then.In all of gsp's reign he has only been able to finish an old hughes & 2 LWs that moved up.Everything else has been a 5 round grind, yet other WWs have disposed of gsp's opponents in record time.On the other side of the spectrum u have a champ that has outclassed everyone but a juice monkey (on a fractured rib) 12 out of his 15 ufc fights finished :yeshrug:

Where we watching the same fight? the only cardio and footwork he used was to run away for most of the fight and i personally didnt see any great striking- i don't know what the judges were smoking on that night- Nick won

I only gave Nick the first round, to be honest.

What did he do in the fight? He walked forward but landed nothing. He talked about how the leg kicks weren't bothering him but after about 3 rounds, he started to slow down and starting going for takedowns...and they all got stuffed. He finally got a takedown in the 5th round and went for a submission but Condit got out of it. He was more agressive but he did nothing memorable, IMO.

It was funny seeing a "natural born killer" run for 25 minutes, though. I expected him to brawl that night, honestly.
