Notes – Just when it looked like the Seattle Seahawks were getting healthy; they suffered another serious blow. Maybe cornerback Shaquil Griffin wasn’t having a great season, but losing him to a concussion this week puts
Tre Flowers back into the starting lineup. That’s bad news.
On the bright side, it looks like safety Jamal Adams, out since the fourth quarter of Game 2, is back. He was certainly missed. Speaking of boosting the secondary, the Seahawks activated defensive back
D.J. Reed earlier in the week. As a former member of the Niners, he went against their receivers every day in practice. Hopefully, he and Adams can offset the losses of Griffin and Umadi.
Defensive tackle
Damon Harrison wasn’t activated this week. The burly defensive tackle is still getting back into football shape. Additionally, newly acquired defensive end Carlos Dunlap is in COVID-19 intake, so he won’t play this week either.
San Francisco

Nick Bosa (Knee), RB Justin Wilson Jr. (Ankle), K’Wuan Williams (Knee), RB Raheem Mostert (Ankle), LB Mark Nzeocha (Quadricep), DE Solomon Thomas (Knee), WR Deebo Samuel (Hamstring).
Doubtful – LB Kwon Alexander (Ankle), S Jacquiski Tartt (Groin), WR Richie James (Ankle).
Questionable – RB Tevin Coleman (Knee), DL Kentavius Street (Ill), S Jimmie Ward (Quadricep).
Scouting Report
A wounded animal can be very dangerous. Sure, San Francisco is a beat-up team, but it doesn’t mean they aren’t capable of doing damage. Last week, the 49ers took New England to the woodshed in a 33-6 beat down.
They have embraced the next man up philosophy. Backup running back Jeff Wilson Jr. rushed for 112 yards and three scores, while rookie wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk pulled in six passes, good for 115 yards against the Pats.
In 2020, San Fran’s defense has held their opponents to 20 points or less in all seven games. They are fifth in the league for both yards (309.6) and points (19.4) allowed per game. It’s crazy to think how good this D would be if they were close to healthy.
