Today I learned Jay Cutler and Tony Romo never faced criticism as QBs during their career
They never won shyt and were never benched, never endanger of being out the leak, matter of fact that just got paid more money rewarded for being trash
its crazy how they create their own stories, treat it like an actual storyline and have their roster of talking heads discuss/dissect as if there is any substance to the conversation. I get why they do it, but its just silly
But the topic at hand isn't the organizations they play for. It's the media and their perceptions.
You said Cutler and Romo weren't scrutinized. That couldn't be further from the truth. They were probably two of the most dogged out QBs of their era.

The media does this to alot of up coming young QBs. Hell, even Rodgers was criticized after his 3rd year after playing ONE playoff game vs AZ. The following year they were saying he needs to win a playoff game to take it to the next level and be consider a top QB ect.

Y’all are insane, i understand Peyton Is the standard for a lot of people but for all intents and purposes he was a regular season champ who couldn’t get it done, btw he had 2 hof rbs( though one left early) a hof wr, and another that if they wanted to push it, he could get in, but at the very least ring of honor guy, and a stout line
The nikka was 9-11 for his playoff career, that includes them late Denver runs the defense carried him to, so in fact yes they were figuring him out, and after the 04 season bill polian bytch ass whined to the league about how ne was too aggressive with their wrs and got the rules changed
Peyton got smoked by a jets team 41-0 his third year he went into the playoffs 10-6, 27-19 td/int and that brings up another point he had a ton of ints and no one said hey he needs to protect the ball, nope they said he’s a gun slinger
remember 04 the year put up 49 Tds, got his ass beat by New England 3-20 he couldn’t even score a TD yes he got figured out a lot or let me guess he had something in his eye
