Detroit is no match for the 9ers. That's no shade on Detroit they're having a great season but they're not there yet. Which is in part their fault for fukking up the draft so bad (Other than Laporta and Branch of course). They could certainly use defensive help and they took a fukking running back

Imagine if they had drafted Gonzales instead of a running back how different that defensive backfield would be

Think Lions match up better with 49ers than they do Philly. A mobile QB is Lions kryptonite . Hurts would be a nightmare with those WRs. And the one thing the lions defense does well is stop the run. They can limit CMC

Gibbs is a stud so no complaints on pick. And Jack Campbell getting better as season wears on. Great draft for them. Lions thought Emmanual Moseley was going to come back healthy and be starting CB opposite Sutton. But he got injured again on his first play back. But they should get CJ Gardner and James Houston back by playoffs Hopefully

I definitely think the Niners are simply the better team however people ignore the rest thing. It's less of a cop out as saying the NFL is fukking idiotic/barbaric in the way they force teams to play so many games in a tight window due to MondayThursday/holiday games. Lions just played 3 games in 11 days (one of which was a west coast game). We went 2-1 but got our ass beat on Thanksgiving, and you could tell guys were not healthy/ready. you can be a great team and play an awful game, which is what the eagles did sunday. defense was completely gassed in the 2nd half and we've had a few players on defense have their worst performances all season long. even the offense & play calling in general wasn't up to par compared to weeks past. there's no way you could've watched the eagles all season long and think they played "great" on sunday.

Well it was done.

Also just for recent historical context, let me ask you why?

When we beat GB, the same was said “well that’s fine, I wanna see these 2 teams play again” then we beat them again

When we beat the Cowboys, the same was said “well that’s fine, I wanna see these 2 teams play again” and we beat them again and again.

Yea the Lions had a great draft, I don't see how anyone can deny that at this point. First four picks are all contributing and range from really good (Gibbs, LaPorta, Branch) to solid (Campbell). You can def see Campbell is really good at playing the run, he just needs to figure our NFL coverage but that's gonna come to him soon enough.

Personally would I have taken Gonzales at 12, and hoped/prayed Gibbs would still be available at 18? Yes. But clearly things worked out in our favor the way it went so I'm not mad.
