Yep, every real fan knows if you go to the ground you have to possess it through.

This dude fell to the ground with the ball in his hand against the ground and popped up leaving it on the ground, we all knew he had possession but his dumb ass didn't know the rules, was too interested in celebrating rather than making the catch

True and another thing these replacement refs can't even spot the ball :what: the regular refs make calls we may disagree with due to our rooting allegiances cause in football in general there are a lot of that can be called but they have a better understanding of how to ref a game . They know when to let teams play or to start throwing flags . Look at the 2 giant- niners game that were physical without a thousand flags being thrown

Come on dude....I don't need to explain why that rule is in place, it's obvious. If the ground causes a fumble then it's incomplete. In Calvin's situation there was no question that he had possession of the ball throughout the entire play, he even maintained control when he hit the ground. He "lost" the ball as he was getting up to celebrate lol. Bullshyt call

No no no, you're wrong.

It has nothing to do with the ground causing a fumble because to fumble you must have possession.

Calvin Johnson's play was his clearly not maintaining possession of the ball in the first place.

The rule is dumb, but the call is by rule. Just like the tuck rule is dumb, but it's still a rule to this day.

U only need to have possession once u initially hit the ground.

When a player (or players) is going to the ground in the attempt to catch a pass, Rule 8, Section 1, Article 3, Item 1 states:

Player Going to the Ground. If a player goes to the ground in the act of catching a pass (with or without contact by an opponent), he must maintain control of the ball throughout the process of contacting the ground, whether in the field of play or the end zone. If he loses control of the ball, and the ball touches the ground before he regains control, the pass is incomplete. If he regains control prior to the ball touching the ground, the pass is complete

After he hit the ground that was it....TD

He rolled and then tried to get up and lost the ball.

Nooooooo :why:

I'm not even a sports fan and I'm enthralled by this fukkery. Oh well, I guess I'll have to wait for wrestling to parody this five years from now. :upsetfavre:
