imagine a NBA game in the last 30 seconds with one team down by 1 and the ref calls a flagrant 2 and a technical on the winning team while the losing team has possession of the ball, effectively ruining the winning team's chances and gift wrapping the other team a win.
not a single person would consider that a good game in any way yet people say games decided by the refs in the NFL are "good." this wouldn't be a problem if it didn't happen so often in this league where some critical drive is either largely benefited or ruined by a flag.
