The Harris Poll, which annually tracks the popularity of sports in the United States, reports that the NFL is still the most popular sport by a wide margin although it showed a drop from 35 to 32 percent this year.

The poll surveyed 2,255 adults between Dec. 10th and 15th.

Baseball went up from 14 to 16 percent this year but it still trails the NFL by 16 percentage points although the gap between the two sports was the smallest in five years.

College football is third at 10 percent, followed by auto racing at seven percent and the NBA, soccer and hockey at six percent.

As long as a poll that size randomly selects those participants from all over the country then these results are potentially within a couple of percentage points from the truth.

Sports is a TV show now. Polling a small percentage of white people doesn't mean shyt. NFL, CFB & NBA are the highest rated sports in the US. Soccer is catching up, but MLB, NHL & Nascar regularly get terrible ratings. World Series games get out-rated by the fukking Walking Dead.

The poll is both accurate and flawed.
Some of yall nikkuhs need to just come to grips with the fact that in U. S.; The NBA isn't top 3 according to the manner in which this poll was conducted.
Outside black neighborhoods... Hoops falls significantly down the list.
But with that said...

These folks were asked what's there favorite sport.
Not what's there top 3
Understand that most basketball fans might prefer the NFL #1 then the NBA #2, or even NCAAB #1 but NBA #2

That show does get monster ratings, but it beat out regular season blowouts a small margin. It's beating World Series games by a significant margin. You won't see shyt beat out an NFL playoff game or the Super Bowl.
