Atlanta and Philly are my dark horses for top ten defenses this year.

They way Philly meshed at the end of last season should have their fans excited.

I can see Philly...Atlanta, not so much. I think they're maybe a year or 2 away from being a good defense, simply because Nolan is a 3-4 guy and they have 4-3 pieces, so they're going to try and run a hybrid...:why:

I don't think they have the Linebackers to run a good 3-4 and I don't believe they have the D Tackles to run a good 4-3. I'm thinking they're going to get gashed up the middle on runs. The Secondary on paper is good and Witherspoon is a good MLB. I just don't think they have enough pieces to be a top 10 or even top 16 defense. I think they fall in the bottom half.

smh @ the 49ERS getting to play Arizona, Seattle and ST. Louis 2x's this year. If they don't finish #1 overall then s'cust at there D

You say dumb shyt like this but the NFC East wasn't not better than the NFC West.

You had one winning team in the NFC East and they were 9-7

You had 2 .500 teams in the east, and in the West you had a team that was 8-8, 7-9 and then the two bottom teams were a damn near match with the Redskins and Rams.

It's funny though, because people always front like the East is beastly.

Even a blind cat will find a meal every now and then.

We were a dropped pass from the Super Bowl.

The Jags on the other hand... :wow:

too many holes on D for carolina? These losers dont watch football :dead:

Hold on now. Last year you argued for Cam Newton being ROY over Andy Dalton and said team record shouldn't matter because Cam has "one of the worst defenses in the history of the NFL", and that they are responsible for the team being shytty. Now the offseason passes and your only key addition on defense is Luke Kuechly and you are saying these guys don't watch football because they are saying Carolina has too many holes on defense? :leon:

SI.COM said:
1. Can the defense improve despite limited upgrades?: The Panthers had two clear-cut spots of need coming into the offseason: defensive tackle and in the secondary. And yet, they added no significant free agents at either position. Then, the Panthers opted to draft Luke Kuechly at ninth overall, despite Stephon Gilmore, Fletcher Cox and Dontari Poe, among others, still being available. The team did get great value in picking cornerback Josh Norman in the fifth round. He will grow into a worthy contributor, but won’t make enough of a difference right away to help the Panthers’ pass defense in 2012.

In fairness, Kuechly’s three-down prowess will help a defense that finished 28th overall, as well as 32nd in both pass and run defense efficiency, according to Football Outsiders, and many would argue that he was the best player available at the pick. Still, the lack of attention paid to the aforementioned weaknesses, especially at defensive tackle, could come back to haunt the Panthers. The team is hoping that Ron Edwards’ return after missing all of 2011 to injury, along with improvement from 2011 rookies Terrell McClain and Sione Fua, will be enough to solidify the middle of the line.

I'm not a Jags fan, but their defense was good last year. Top 10 in ypg and #11 in ppg, if memory serves me correctly.
