Yea I called this in another coaching thread, but as I said in there I don't see why you don't give him, a true Eagle, a chance to put a staff together and see what he can do. Players coaches like the Ryans' brothers stay with a job, give Duce a shot

Philly (BYRD GANG)
And I disagreed. Thought it was giving Staley a chance to learn what the process was like. (He asked for the interview)

Also, the Eagles have planned on interviewing Teryl Austin since the weekend. But carry on with the party yall... :sas2:

They're interviewing him after that rooney rule shyt allegations

Love the rule but also hate it and this the reason why. You know that 90% of the interviews being given out are strictly because they have to.

shyt I won't lie, when the Steelers hired Tomlin my first reaction was "shyt they had to, the rule is THE ROONEY RULE...how the hell aren't they gonna have a Black coach".

I wonder how many assistant coaches and coordinators are Black.

Exactly and Tomlin had to Ace his interview completely
This makes no sense. The franchise created the rooney rule due to not enough opportunities being given to minorities so why would they turn around and make it harder for them. If you knew the history of the Steelers, them hiring Tomlin wouldn't be that much of a shock since they had a long history of giving opportunities to blacks.
First to hire a black assistant coach
first to start a black qb
first to hire a black coordinator
first to champion a black super bowl mvp
idk about the other 31 franchises but the steelers and the rooney family deserve their credit.

TYRONE GA!
Because they never hire the best candidates they only hire who they like or who looks like them. Tomlin been one of the most successful coaches the past decade but how many teams would of given him the chance in the league besides the Steelers?

You have fukks like Fisher coaching forever.

Funny thing is the Dolphins interviewed Tomlin in 2007 but hired Cam Cameron instead.....look how that worked out. :mjlol:

Where did anyone say that it was harder for them? My point was that they had no choice but to hire a minority
