It's weird out here. The City of LA and the County of LA are used interchangeably.

Its simple don't let these people who never been here confuse it. It's all considered LA period Compton/Inglewood/Santa monica/Culver City/Long Beach/Marina del Rey/West-North Hollywood/valley/hills/Calabasas/Westwood/Malibu

correct me if im wrong, but Long Beach is its own city. It is a part of LA county, but it is not apart of LA city

yeah the LBC is like 30-40 miles away from where this popped.....
It's not considered LA, at all.....30-40 miles away is like 50minutes to 2hours away in LA traffic

Inglewood is inglewood, it is, its own city, but it's known as inglewood not LA...

LA proper is only like 8-10 miles wide(horizontal) and 4-6 miles across(vertical)...

And I grew up on a side of town with money(West LA). Most people in LA county are paying less in rent or mortgages than people in LA proper, that's why they move out there.....

But growing up in LA >>> growing up in the valley, santa monica,etc....

Heck there's peeps in LA county who never even venture south of washington blvd.....
