"A newborn girl, believed to be 36 to 48 hours old, was found "buried alive under pieces of asphalt and rubble inside a crevice located along the bike path." The deputies removed the debris and recovered the baby, who was said to be cold to the touch. She was then medically triaged at the scene by Compton Fire Department officials and later transported to a local hospital, where she was listed in stable condition and was in the custody of the county's Department of Children and Family Services."
"If the child had spent the night there, in those conditions, the baby wouldn't have survived."
