Downtown Newark is dope :win: Esp that skywalk that goes from the Train Station to all the office buildings, the woman :lawd: :ahh:

I remember the one time I walked though there this nikka that has a white collar job there was checking out this woman ass. My nikka was doing hood mannerisms at his career job :heh:

This thread reminds me of a parody someone did of Empire State of Mind clowning Newark...

new jersey was a really cool place to grow up for me, and i've lived nearly everywhere. as far as the culture and the people, theres actually no difference from it from new york. its not structured same as far as the day to day living but its just a one giant suburb of new york and philadelphia, and a productive one at that

the best part of new jersey is the integrated diversity. when you go to new york, you will see that people of their respective races just stick to themselves. you could get some great networking and idea flow amongst the different cultures but there isnt much, since people can find comfort in segregating themselves

in jersey, you pretty much get a mixed bag of middle class plus in most areas and some struggling neighborhoods that adds to the character (ie a camden or newark). a good amount of the successful people in society comes from NJ, so y'all better not knock it, we all know michael booker be making that presidential run sooner than later

I thought newark was the worst until I went to detroit(8 mile)most economically depressing city in america. which is saying a lot bc I travel all over this country on business. certain areas of detroit remind me of a third world country.

I'm from Newark, NJ born and raised in the surrounding areas of the Oranges.

The shyt is depressing and rough af at but it has it's bright spots. Since Cory Booker shyt has really calmed down from what it used to be. In 2010 they had their first month without a murder :russ:

Newark also graduates the highest number of black males in the country and actually has a decent school system. And downtown Newark is a cool environment.

But of course it has negatives... :snoop:

There's endless abandoned buildings and crackheads on the streets. Cars get stolen and broken into on a daily. nikkas getting shot every other day based off of gang affiliation and 90% of the shootings are drug related. And it also has a relatively high AIDS rate. The surrounding areas of East Orange and Irvington aren't much better.

It's constantly on the most dangerous cities list in the nation.

It very well may be one of the most grimiest areas in America as a whole. Definitely more gully than NY. :umad:

But in the end I wouldn't have it any other way, Newark made me who I am and it's the home to alot of my family. I feel that since I lived there I can survive anywhere because there ain't many places rougher than Brick City.:win:
