i use to watch this so much when i was younger. i remember, when i was in elementary school, they had us enrolled in those d.a.r.e. classes and a police officer would come by the school every thursday and "educate" us about drugs and shyt. well, one of my other classmates use to watch the show too. she would always ask the real police officer questions related to the show to see if it was true or not. so many kids use to watch that show in my school...

this was my shyt.

sure the stories were always on some typical shyt and they usually wrapped up nicely at the end of the every episode (typical dikk wolf steez) but i fukked with this hard.

having the dope guests at the end rocking at Natalie's and seeing hip-hop culture in the show and having the dope music playing throughout scenes and having minorities as more than the criminals was ill.

that little arc that they had with ice t as danny up and det. williams murking his little bro then him murking williams's fiance was some :ooh: shyt. that had me like :lawd: back in the day. ice t was ruthless as fukk and killed his role.

this scene in particular with montell jordan doing his rendition of "what you won't do for love?" while they show both funerals was dope, shyt meshed perfectly for the moment...

it's a shame this will never get put on DVD due to the ridiculous cost of licensing the music performances and music used in the show.

Loved everything about that show, except for one thing. And they do this all the time with Latino characters. Gina is clearly a Latina of some obvious African/Latino heritage, but yet her daughter looked like no way in hell she came out of her. Just like the Dominican chick on Scrubs, her mother and her brother were white as hell.
