I think Malik Yoba said in an interview that the reason it's not on DVD or streaming services is because of the amount of money it would cost them in licensing for all the music

That's probably the same reason either Centric or TVOne stopped showing episodes. For awhile they had been doing marathons of NY Undercover, then it just randomly stopped and there wasn't a trace of it at all

Personally yeah. I love season 1 but Season 3 got the GOAT episode imo, so it puts it over the top. (Blizzard episode)
:ohhh:

Yunno, I've ALWAYS thought this. Never knew anyone else agreed.

Some of the Season 3 episodes are among the BEST EVER, and they all have their own hilarious quotable moments:

"Martin Gets Paid" - Martin auditions for a television job and creates a crazy audition tape.

Quote: “I can tell by the hair on her forearms…oh, it’s GONNA be a full moon. HOOOOOOOOWWWWWLL!!!!”

"The Closer I Get to You" – Martin takes over as host of “Word On The Street" and becomes “The Love Doctor”.

Quote: “Now GET on outta here, I’m the Love Doctor….”

"Movin' On In" - Martin and Gina move in together but neither of them wants to throw away their stuff.

Quote: “So whatchoo tryinta say, Gina? Your momma love you MORE than my momma love me?”

"Whole Lotto Trouble" – Martin wins the lottery.

Quote: “What are you doing here, Nappy Longstocking?” :mjlol: :mjlol: :mjlol:

“Get A Job” – Martin and Gina try to find out what Tommy does for a living. Also marked the first time we found out how hilarious Hustle Man was.

Quote: “Tommy, get cho’ HAPPY ASS off the stage!”

"Feast or Famine" – the Thanksgiving dinner episode
Quote: “You still chuckin’ them peas, Big Face?” :pachaha: :pachaha: :pachaha:

"Ain't Nuttin' Goin' on But the Rent" – Martin’s landlord turns off the heat during a blizzard because Martin refuses to pay the rent increase……$5.

Quote: “I ain’t payin’ the five….”

"Romantic Weekend" – Martin and Gina escape to Chilligan's Island

Quote: @GinaThatAintNoDamnPuppy! :russ:

"All The Players Came" - fund-raiser to save a neighborhood theater with the 70s Blaxploitation theme (Pam Grier was lookin’ RIGHTEOUS).

"High Noon" - "Mad Dog No Good"!

So IMO you’re RIGHT @FreshAIG …Season 3 IS the GOAT season.

That's what happened to In Living Color when they released it on DVD. ALL the video parodies are left out all 5 seasons, and even in the sketches whenever somebody somebody even sings or raps a line from a song it just cuts that part out :wtb:

Yeah, this was a must-see on the regular, and it's fked up that they couldn't leave this show alone and let it be great, making unnecessary changes because they were trying to make FOX a more mainstream network. If they were smart, they would've capitalized on hip-hop's growing popularity at the time instead of trying to distance the show from it.
Blame dikk Wolf for messing that show up.

Hip-Hop Since '79

One of the G.O.A.T. shows! In fact, FOX's whole Thursday night lineup was GOAT status, straight "MUST SEE TV"....like, nikkas would be LEGIT rushing home to catch that lineup:

Martin
Living Single
New York Undercover

This show perfectly married the worlds of hip-hop and urban swagger, especially as pertains to fashion.

What's your favorite episode? Of course the one where Ice-T kills J.C.'s lady...

Damn near ere'body and they momma performed at Natalie's (the club where the detectives hung out after hours), both rappers and R&B singers.

That Thursday Night lineup on Fox will always be the GOAT 2hrs of TV
