Whenever I see an upcoming show with like a huge majority white cast I know it's gonna fail. Even white people are tired of white shows, they want that authentic ethnic experience now. lol They drowned us in white angst for so many decades even white people don't care anymore. lol

What exactly is "insightful" about it? White men getting paid to showcase the upending of traditional Cac masculinity is purely on them. What insight do we get into White people complaining about shyt that other white people decide to portray and get rich off of?

I like being able to look at something through the lens of major news. The writer isn't lamenting it or saying boo hoo for them. He/she is saying that tv is reflecting modern times on shows that people would probably assume don't have much going for them mentally anyway. The writer isn't complaining about a damn thing just examining how tv is reflecting a mood certain parts of the country are feeling. So as a writer and someone who loves and studies politics, that's insightful to me because there's no way in hell I'd make that connection for any sitcom airing on CBS whether that's fair or unfair on my part.



I don't have that reflexive thing to boo the article or the writer because of the subject homie.

Edit: yeah I went through it again and I don't see at all how the writer is seemingly upset or complaining about it

That being said, this needs to have happened at lease 10 years earlier, the success of Black and other shows from an non-white standpoint are showing two things, people are generally looking for more diversity in their shows and that there is a sustainable audience for these vehicles, or at least we're getting there.
